Wheel Spacers
The Doc - 12/11/06 at 06:43 PM

Hi,
Is the SVA man cool with wheel spacers?

Can't see any reason why not, as long as your wheel studs are long enough! Can I ask why you think you need them though?? Would it not be better in the long run to get wheels with the correct offset....Oli.

Solid spacers were certainly no prob at SVA for me, but I would agree, better to get correct offset wheels if poss.

Actually my wheels are Caterham original minilites with the correct offset. It's just that I have wide arches and an escort axle. That along with the wheels being 13" makes them look a little 'puny'. With the spacers they look fine.

Mine passed OK with 10mm spacers on the rear, and with longer studs to suit. They gave a bit of extra clearance between the tyre and the trailing arm bolts and made the wheels fit the arches just right.

Make sure you get the hubcentric variety or you will probably suffer from wheel wobble.
