Sierra or Cortina uprights

Hi All

Can anyone help I'm looking a starting my build very soon the only Thing that l have not got yet is the front susspension.Im using the 442 chassis with a 1600 pinto Type 9 box with a capri rear diff so as you can see the book went out of the window The Cortina uprights a getting hard to get at the right price so i was looking at useing the sierra ones but will thay fit the chassis at all

Only if you alter the length of your wishbones, make/buy an insert/bush to allow a transit BJ to fit the upright and get the bottom BJ hole bored out to fit a Cortina BJ.

Hi Mate,

Not quite sure what you mean?

Do you mean fit the indy wishbones to a Book chassis?

It would be possible, I guess, if you were to move the FU1&2 rails backwards. I *think* that is theonly difference but I wouldn't suggest you bought them withought checking with MK first.

Bear in mind also that the Indy is designed for a Sierra donor which has a 6/7" wider track than the Escort so therefore the Indy wishbones are that much longer than book ones.

If you're going to do that then you need to design an IRS system for the rear too.
