It'll either have a circlip or its permanently attached to the diaphragm

I have took the master cylinde off but can't see how to remove the push rod out of the servo. Don't need the servo just the rod, should i just the servo up?

i cut mine off when i concluded it couldnt be removed. But i have since seem people with whole ones, so maybe worth some butchery. Start with pulling the vacuum box apart!

Why do you need the rod?

If you put a rod between your pedal and the master cylinder, wonderful things happen!

More seriously, i assume you mean there is an alternative?

If you use the pedal pushrod and link this to directly to the master cylinder, and chuck the entire servo, comlete with the pushrod, even more wonderful things happen, you get a MAC!

This works with the drawn steel master cylinder, may work with the cast ones. Rescued attachment BrakePedals&Cylinder.JPG

the system i dismantled, from i believe an F reg car, was what appeared to be one bar through the whole servo. I assumed it worked by the servo assisting your pedal too, rather than by it actuating a seperate rod. If im wrong, it would probably explain why i never got it apart Plus why i never got a MAC

Joel, If you remember I inherited your push rod, it may put your mind to rest that it now resides in my scrap pile, i made up a new rod out of some stainless I had lying around
