mating bolt on CV's to a UJ output flange?

can you do this? without going to the machine shop?

Well you could weld the uj yoke to the cv flange, but it'd have to be done very well with perfect concentricity. Wouldn't do that myself.

So unless they just bolt up, obviously you'll need to do some machining. The minimum would be to drill the cv flange to take the uj yoke if that's possible. Otherwise you'll need to make an adaptor that fits between the cv flange and the uj yoke.

no its the other way round to that, its a bolt on cv joint to a uj output flange

If you are lucky the flange might be able to be re-drilled if it's diameter is large enough, otherwise you are looking at making an adapter to sit between the two. As said, you can't afford anything rough and ready here, the two must be concentric or you will suffer from vibration and possibly premature failure of the diff/bearings/CV. Unless you have access to a lathe I think this would need the machine shop.
