Anyone know what thread it is...? M18 x 1.5...? Its just before I send it back and get a new one and a new ball joint I want to see if its quicker to get the local machine shop to run a tap down it.

Its M20 x 1.5 if anyone else has a problem... Which is standard conduit size but no-one round here has one !
Off to Tiger....
