
wich is the most commonly IRS design used by people who build their own arms and uprights?
or by other words: is there some people who made it and can help me to decide what I'll choose?

thats the most common route for people to take i think
personaly im going to use the chassis design but make my own bones

You can checkout the first locost page on my website if you want , that's a design using mx5 uprights & driveshafts.
I did lots of work to turn the TREs upside down which in retrospect seems unnecessary - making it a much easier donor to use

well i still need to measure the bearing carriers that i will be useing so i havent got as far as design yet
look into my photo-archive.
It's based on rorty but i have a tiger avon rear.
The reason i didn't use the avon upright is the spread of the lower bracket (gonna cause wobling in my opnion.
The second is the spring is not mounted on top.
Third: if you're using normal sierra drums. your handbrake cables will not be symetrical mounted.
4th: the mounting of the upper wishbone cause positive camber in cornering.
5th: the upper mounting isn't any good while setting it is not possible. So no tolerance there in fabricating them.
I redone the mounting on the coil-over from rorty's design. IMO too light.
So have a look and get inspired
So i made my own. 

I need to check the dimensions, but it may be that Rortys IRS gives Escort width and therefore needs the driveshafts shortening. I asked Rorty last
week about the width and got the following reply "the rear track (wheel mounting face to wheel mounting face) is 1370mm, using the standard
Sierra hubs"
Haven't looked yet to see how that relates to the standard Sierra width - can anyone help?
