powder coating axle?
d8mok - 18/4/07 at 06:42 AM

i want to get my english axle powder coated but i'm worried bout shot blasting bits getting in the casing.

a idea i thought of is cutting a piece of mdf to the size of the diff and bolting it ont the axle using cardboard as a gasket? and doing the same at either end?

would it work? or shall i just hammerite it?

Speak to the guys you'll get to do the powder coating - it probably won't be their first axle.

They should be able to advise you on what to do

I did all this on my first build made everything look fantastic

cleaned all the back end bits and it makes such a mess

absolutely pointless as you cant see it when the cars done

wont waste time doing it again

just make your brakes look nice etc

Hammerite it mate. As said you wont see it when its together and its cheaper.

use thin steel. mdf is no good when it goes in the oven
