I want to remake my trailing arms but am struggling to find somwhere I can get tubing. Also not quite sure what I need.
Guess it will be 1 inch (25mm) and something like 1.5-2mm wall.
Can it be welded or does it have to be continuous.
Bit of a numpty on this one as you might guess.
I live around Crewe and work in Sale.
I used 22mm CDS 2.5mm wall, but plenty people use ERW (welded) successfully too, try looking in yellow pages for hydraulic tubing and ask for sched 40
seamless tube
Cheers
Alex
whereabouts in Crewe do you live?
cheers,
Steve.

Wistaston between Crewe & Nantwich.
I've tried Houstons the scrap metal dealers but it's all .......scrap.
I've looked for local fabricators but there just don't seem to be many left and I can't get there during the week.
I know where you are, and you're not that far away from me in Middlewich!
I don't know Crewe that well for stuff like that, but since you are pretty local, I can recommend a place in Middlewich called "Trueline
Engineering Services Ltd, Unit 15, King Street Trading Estate, Middlewich, Cheshire, CW10 9LF, UK - 01606 836961"
I know houstons and it's great for scrap, but thats about it!!!
cheers,
Steve.
Thanks Steve,
I normally pass though Middlewich on the way home around 5:30 so I'll see if they are open.
Cheers.

I used 25 3 mm; no worries about, only a bit to heavy
25mmx2mm round erw is well up to the job of trailing arms, IMHO that includes a big margin of safety too. Theres no spring trying to bend it, unlike
front bottom bones. Obviously caveat emptor etc.
I doubt they are open at that time Paul, but I am on nights at the moment, so I will nip down to them for you if you want me too!
Just let me know... (inc what size you finally decide upon!)
cheers,
Steve.
