Does anybody know the wieght of the escort and capri axles (i.e entire unit inc case diff shafts brakes? etc..) or indeed just the diffence in weight between them. any information will be gratefully recieved.

Capri axle is 47KGs all up, don't know about the Escort

I have the same axle in my car with drum brakes fitted and have been informed by everybody that it is incredibly heavy in comparison to the forward loading escort english affair. For info, i weighed an eglish at the weekend from a mk2 escort 1600 and it was around 50kg including brakes. There you go.....
