Hi folks,

I have seen many threads on here debating the type of suspension bushes used, different materials for different applications etc. I am going to be building a set of rear wishbones to convert my car to IRS from Live axle.

I need to know where to get the bushes from, and what size they are, ( do they have a metal outer with a rubber/nylon or other material inner?) O/D most important so i can source the tubing for them.

Has anyone used standard production car bushes, someting like an inner Track control arm bush from a Pegueot 205?

Once i know the O/D of the bush what ir the minimum wall thickness of the tube to carry the bush?

also for example if the bush is 40mm O/D what should the I/D of the tube be 40mm also?

Last question, what are crush tubes?

crush tubes are little tubes that go inside the bush, so the bush is sandwiched between the sleeve on the outside and the crush tube on the inside.

If you buy you tubes and bushes from the same place they will give you all the correct size pieces, so u wont have to worry about stuff, and the sleeves will already be chopped up. i got my brackets at the same time so they are a perfect fit also. I'm making the bottom front ones and purchased the top ones to save some effort.

theres many good outlets for that stuff all over the place....

Had i applied a little thought to it i may have figured out what crush tubes are!, kind of self explanatory really.

Are the outlets for this stuff places like rally design etc?
