the bushes i have dont fit the brackets what do you use to pack them out just normal washers. i thought that they had to clamp the inner bit. but with the washers there wont it let them move.

Turned spacers, or find some tube with the right ID/OD.

Washers no bigger than the bush.
Very hard to find so you prob need to get some turned.

You can get large stainless 12mm id repair or mudguard washers that are about the right od for the bushes.

I'm gonna use washers OD 24 mm 12mm ID and 2 mm thick.

They are fine for the job and plenty available.
