I believe Robin Hood use small McP struts.

Really? Thats not the sliding pillar system you are confusing?
For the original poster, Locosts use sierra mcphereson type struts with an adaptor where the strut would normally go.

Some Nissans, later Sunnys I think, use a short McPherson strut but are front wheel drive like most modern cars.
yours, Pete.
Steve,
This lifted directly from Robin Hood SubK kit page as part of kit contents:
"Pair of mini McPherson struts"
Couldn't find a piccy in the 20 secs I managed to spend on their site

There's a picture here of a mcpherson struted Robin Hood.
The system looks very similar to another setup than I can't put my finger on. No sleep for me then!
Neil.
looks like they used crossmember and arms from the sierra too...
that looks like a really nice, elegant, better than coilovers solution, doesnt it.

Now guys lets consider it more carefully before being so critical.....
OK.....it IS shite..
I must agree with Mr Noodle. As a prospective Locost customer, buying a prefabbed chassis has its advantages. But sacrificing quality for no real
difference in spend is fools gold. Especially if you are buying to avoid the rigmoral of welders and the like.
Now if RH or Lolocost can be honest and palm their "CNC machined" chassis off for a more acceptable price, then one might consider the
aforementioned sacrifice.
Or you could opt for the MacPherson to strut your stuff. The Dilema still stands.
Back to the original thread...
I was under Umpcar the other day - '90 honda civic - it's got funny little mcPhersons.
Let me know if you want a photo.
