BRAKE DISC STONE PROTECTORS

HI FOLKS..
RECENTLY STARTED BUILDING MY INDY......
IM FITTING REAR DISCS..
ARE THE STONE GUARDS THAT PROTECT THE DISCS REQUIRED.....DONOR ONES WERE DISSOLVING...SO DO I NEED TO REPLACE THEM

You only need replace them if you want to. Personal preference really... front ones aren't, and I believe rear ones make brake-piping difficult to route?

I am taking off and junking my rear covers. They are so rusty off the donor that its impossible to stop the rust coming back through, so they are in the bin pretty shortly.

PS - they are virtually nothing in weight as they are made out of paper thin metal.
