Hi can anyone tell me how important it is to have the trailing arms parallel?. I have built as per the book and got the top bracket about 1 1/2" too
high what if any difference does it make.
Like an idiot I fully welded before I checked.Help please. Thanks
Had a similar problem in the early stages of mine and however it panned out on AutoCAD I could not get it right so had to remove brackets and re-weld.
If they are not parallel then the axle twists as it travels up and down which also means the bottom shock mount moves in an arc. I am uncertain as to
the seriousness of the problems that arise but it is best to get it right.
It may be worth pointing out that there are 2 sets of hole centres in the book which can also lead to confusion as they did with mine! There is some
40mm difference shown in 2 seperate drawings - BEWARE (unless of course you have used my axle brackets which have both sets of holes just in
case!!)
available at £20 pair + post....
Thanks for that somehow i knew that I was due to do some cutting and rewelding.(note to self Tackweld and check.)
