Looks like the convoluted section is fully compressed.
It looks to be from here, if you have any doubts can you post a close up pic ?

looks like all the other sierra steering columns i have seen to be honest....
does it not fit - too short???
I thought that section was supposed to look like that... The crushable section is inside? Could be wrong, but mine looks very similar to that.
I dont know, a few i have seen have that section extended out. The one in the Raptor build manual is the pic i compared against

There are 2 types - the non-adjustable and adjustable columns. The non-adjustable has an expanded concertina bit, and I believe that the adjustable
one has a squashed look.
Just looked in my haynes manual - I think yours is the adjustable type, and is probably perfectly ok. The concertina bit is not meant to squash in an
accident, but to allow the column to bend out of the way.

Could be right, this is one with the adjuster. So I need to make a bracket to hold through the bottom and bolt into the chassis to support it?
I should have kept my gob shut, I was comparing the photo to what my Cortina column looks like.

having had both non adjustable and adjustable, now fitted, I can confirm that the non adjustable has a longer uncompressed section and the adjustable one looks fully compressed.
looks like mine, so would say ok.
Ok, so I need the bush from the end of my unit and then the two uv joints with the extended middles to complete it?

As snapper says - looks the same as my adjustable column.
i took the adjuster mech off mine and bolted it up tight. It can still be adjusted but is a spanner job rather than quick release. Not really sure why
i did this but at the time there were reports that the adjustable column could be problematic, but no-one could state conclusively why. Ive had no
probs with mine afterthe little mod.
BTW - the mod in no way stops the crush function from working, it only concerns the quick release part alone. i would never condone any mods to the
impact protection itself. i dont even like the idea of mooding the steering shaft but theres not much you can do to get away from this (ive seen a
column made by experienced steering system model maker fail before so DIY mods scare the hell out of me).

The bellows on the non adjustable is before the bracket and compresses, the adjustable is after and expands on impact.
