Rear sierra pads wearing unevenly??
markrally73 - 16/9/07 at 01:54 PM

I have some sierra rear calipers fitted and i am getting uneven pad wear and the pads look like they are wearing the top edge on one and the bottom on the other.
I have remounted the carrier exactly square with the disc so it isnt that, my carrier pins appear to be a bit slack and wobbly in hte carrier but can you replace or recondition these?

Anyone else had this

I need to sort it as i dont want to fit ferodo race pads at £60 a go until its sorted.
The calipers were recondition from my motor factors 12 month ago.

Cheers Mark

I'm Not familiar withe sierra calipers but do the pistons have cut outs on the??? If so are they properly lined up??

It does have a cutout which locates on a extra peice in the caliper backplate, i checked this and i have the same problem on both sides.
Will phone bigredd tomorrow.
i may get the caliper body machined square to the piston as it is slightly tapered aswell to the piston.

The sliders do seem a bit floppy anyway
