how can i prevent the clutch pedal from falling forwards? i have an OBP pedal box and i want to get this done before i permanently fix the pedal box
to the car.
cheers
small spring as seen on beetles is easiest IMO. - one that goes around the pivot bar, pushes against the floor and front edge of the pedal stem
see obp web site - they describe how to do it - i came up with the same idea independantly. basically spring with cable through it
I was going to go with just a piece of wire behind the pedal itself to stop the forward movement. I would rather have had a stop below the pivot point, but there just is not room.
so the spring method is what is most common? where does one get a spring from apart from cannibalizing it from something?
I did the spring thing on the cable a while back but not to keep the pedal back. Pinto clutches need the release bearing to be held/sprung in contact
with the diaphragm release fingers. If there is no pressure on the cable the bearing rattles and clutch stroke is long.
Ahh, I also fitted a bar across the back face (back as in towards the back of the car when box is fitted) of the pedal box as a stop. When you say
falling forwards I guess you mean falling towards the driver when he is sitting in the car.

Don't know if the OBP pedal box is the same as the Luego one but suspect it may be similar . What I did with my Luego item was to bolt a small stop bracket to the floor in front of the clutch pedal so that it limits clutch pedal movement.
I have put a long M8 allen bolt through the bottom master cylinder fixing point that is below the pivot point and stops the pedal falling forwards
