I am just starting to pull together all the items I need for my build and I have got the chance of some second-hand coil-over shocks. I understand
they are from a Westfield kit. Can someone give me advice on what I need to look for? Dimensions specifications needed and price before I go and look
at them.
Thanks,
RPS
as a guide.......
12 - 13 inches long uncompressed
8 ins fully compressed
APPROX 160 - 200lb springs rear
APPROX 220 - 350 lbs front
depends on the engine for the fronts - and the angle you mount them at.
you can always buy new springs - cost about 30 quid a pair (but losts more some places).
dont spend more than 220 quid or so - you can buy them for that new from Darren on this site (dozracing i think is his member name - do a search).

Thanks. That is just the information I needed. I have a 2.8 Ford v6 to put in (if I can get it to fit) so I assume that I will need springs rated at the top end of your scale?
i bought some second hand spax for £110 off a westfield. 350lbs front, 190lbs rear, from a zetec 2ltr to fit my 2ltr vauxhall if this helps.
Ned.
Ohh god not the Shocks thread again.
Non inflamitory responses required from all!
For your ref. my shock kit details can be found on www.gtstuning.co.uk
