Why isnt the sierra steering rack more commonly used? Ive heard that it needs shortening? Why?
My chassis is wider at the front than normal so will i be able to use a standard sierra rack?
Thanks
Mikkel
It's all to do with the optimum position for the inner pivots of the steering rack, the pivot should lie on a line between the top and bottom
pivots and as close as posible to horizontal at normal ride height
A bit like this.

ahh ok that helps, so does anyone know how far apart the inner pivots of the sierra rack are?
What are the affects if the inner pivot doesnt line up properly?
thanks
Dont know the Sierra dimensions but if they're too far out (or in) you get the dreaded bump steer.
Bump Steer
