Does anyone know where i can get some bigger front discs (Vented) to fit my cortina hubs? Im looking for somewhere around 280mm. Do any capris etc have them standard? Im even considering some Pug 306 GTI-6 discs mounted off the wheel studs but cant find any dimensions for the offset or the diameter of the mounting face to make sure they'll fit What can anyone reccomend? Thanks.
Capri vented disks work in cortina calipers if you get a spacer kit. Rally design is the name of the company that makes the kits, I think.
It has been discussed on here a few times before, try a search.
Sorry, should have said, im not using the ford callipers, im using Mazda RX7 4 pots which is why i want the discs to be as big as poss so as to make full use of the pads surface area. Ill take a look at that website anyway thanks.
Hi,
Look at the disc drawings on my website www.gtstuning.co.uk i think there is a big vented disc that is just what you need. Any questions email me

APracing.com & wilwood.com give you a huge range of discs & point to local suppliers (eg questmead in rochdale or rallynuts). These guys
supply flat discs that you bolt on a seperate alloy "bell", which will typically save around 2kg per corner on an 11" vented disc. Plus
the discs have far better air channels than normal car discs, some are swept back for improved air "pumping". You pay for the quality mind
you...
IMHO you don't need massive vented rotors on a 1/2 ton car but not many folk here agree....

PS the RX7 ally 4pot calipers are ace - so light!

Yes they are very light! Is anybody else using these callipers? What setup do you use??? dozracing, i looked at your website, very useful thanks, but the inside diameter of the xr4 discs is only 135mm, which is smaller than the cortina hubs, is it safe to get them machined down? Ie does it leave enough edge distance on the wheel studs? Thanks.
Andrew,
Do a search for "VENTED DISC CONVERSION" which I posted on 7/11/03.
I think you will find it interesting.

Cheers Terry, I actually found your post a couple of nights ago, and since then spent a few hours each night trawling through the Quinten Hazel catalogue looking for a suitable disc. The information available on there is invaluable, and last night i finally found one with enough offset, ford pcd and 280mm diameter. Iits a saab 900 T16 disc so ive just got to do a bit of checking before i spend any money Then hopefully i should have the solution. I hope its not a misprint on the website though because most of their range use the same disc except this particular model, which has a lot more offset. Oh well ill soon find out. Ill put the results on here when i get it finished. Thanks everyone. Andrew.
Andrew,
Best of luck. Let us all know how you get on with the Saab disc fitting.
