I've been trying to fit the handbrake cable to my live axle locost, did anyone else find that the panard rod got in the way, stopping the cable
going through the bush at the back of the dif and attaching onto the brakes at the same time? If so, how did you get round it?
Many thanks
i'm assuming, by locost, you've welded all the brackets to your axle yourself? and made the panhard rod yourself?
maybe cutting off the bracket and relocating is the solution?
have you got any photos?
Sounds correct.
One sollution is to use the Allegro brake cables and weld brackets to the axle
I dont have photos as I havnt done it yet but it shows it in Ron's book.
I cant remember exactly how but I recall I had to move the back plates around a bit ,I think I redrilled it where it mounts to the axle.I used a
Marina cable and made a compensator arm that pivots on a bracket welded to the axle.
Paul.
thanks for the relpies, did anyone consider cutting the rigid section of the cable and re-welding it turned round 90 degrees so that the cable could be mounted directly above the bush? can anyone see a problem with this?
