Now i've got my axle welded i need to make some new trailing arms.

I've got 12mm on one end of 1/2 inch on the other. I've left it that way so far so i've got options. Axle is de-dion. Probably with one end poly bushed and the other rose jointed (although slightly tempted with both rose but by having 12mm and 1/2 inch i think i've got more options still). Cars use will be mostly road based (probably).

Anyway, What should i go for?

McGill Motorsport do a few for 5 pounds each.

Bronze liners or PTFE or ???

What strength?

pick the top quality ones in metric , i sent some of the cheaper ones back .

in imperial you might have more choice for a semi pro type .

on a brighter note , mcgill are absolutely the best people ive dealt with on ebay/other .

i'm actually using 5/8" on all my suspension. i did my rear suspension with 1/2" and then bought the front wishbones which used the 5/8 ones. all of a sudden the rear suspension looked pretty weak. i think more down to it being a very big car, so it made them look even smaller. still uses 1/2" bolts right enough...

the good thing about billy mcgill joinnts is, because they are so cheap, you can get the top spec ones for less than the price of standard ones from demon tweeks or rally design

Have a look at the strength of the joints before choosing.

A 1/2" rodend, of even cheap quality, is way overkill.

If you're not weight conscious, then why not use ordinary quality 3/4", and screw it straight into internally threaded 7/8" 10g tube. It'll certainly 'look' strong enough, even though it will carry 10 average locosts, all on one joint!

id go for the ptfe ones as the bronze ones will wear out.dirt ingress will wear bronze ones even quicker.if its for a road car id be tempted to get some of the rubber dust covers for them.

id be tempted to use imperial ones on both ends as metric joints tend to be frowned upon (for reasons unknown to me) and to use a left handed thread on one side to aid adjustments
