Driveshaft question
Ahdammit - 27/8/08 at 09:30 PM

Hi guys
a car I'm working on has rotoflex couplings and u'j's on the driveshafts.
I'd like to do away with the rotoflex's and fit cv joints instead.
Would the u/j and cv joint combination work ok or is it a bad practice?I cant recall ever seeing this combination before,so I dont know if they're compatible.

Any advice?

Cheers

John

They do work, SD1 rovers had CV joint on engine side of the propshaft and UJ at axle end.

The rotoflex allow some change in length of the driveshafts as the suspension moves, cheaper than having splined sliding shafts. If you make it solid there may be no suspension

Thanks for the replies guys.Dont cv joints also allow changes of length?Surely they must?
