I have the RMD cortina geometry uprights from rally design along with wilwood powerlite calipers now fully built (not plumbed in yet) but the brake
disc is binding tight against the inner brake pad (the one nearest the car) and I was wondering the best way to to sort out the problem.
The batteries in my camera have died so cant get a pic at the mo but the uprights are as per
here
My current though is to skim approx 0.75mm off the inner face of the anodised bracket to centre the brake disc in the caliper.
has anyone else had the same problem with the rally design set - I have already had to get a bit skimmed from their ally hubs to get the bearings to
fit
any help would be much appreciated
Common issue with fixed ( not floating ) callipers.
I had to put a 1mm spacer between the carrier hub and the brake disc to move the disc into the centre of the pads.

If the caliper mounting bolts go through the caliper and screw into the mounting bracket then skimming the mounting bracket will make things worse?? Spacing shims( read washers) may work . If the bolts go through the bracket and screw into the caliper then reducing the thickness of the bracket may work if done properly. Might be worth just thinning the inner pads down slightly??
glad to hear I am not alone with this prob
I have just spoken to an engineer local to me and he also reckons a spacer may be the way to go so will be taking the built upright and hubs to him
tomorrow so he can do the measurements and decide whats best
thanks again
