Do you need a protection plate behind the brake disc? I cut mine off on the front beacuse they were rusted quite badly and annoying me. BUt to get new ones on i would have to strip the hub which i wasnt planning on doing.

So are they needed? or is it fine without them?

not needed and just excess weight to carry around (plus they look naff!!). File them in the bin with all the other rubbish not strictly needed

think most people do away with them. i think they're there to stop too much dirt and stones getting in, but they also seem to trap stones and things.

Don't think you need them. I hope not because mine went in the scrap.

brilliant news, ye these were all flimsy aswell so bent as i was getin them off the beemer, plus like said look alot better without them!
