Pedals - floor mounted or bulkhead?

Anyone got any thoughts on this. The Nissan uses pedals that pivot at the top, most kit cars use floor mounted pedals that pivot at the bottom.

Pros and Cons please!

i have driven both and i recommend top mounted, i think you get a better feel of the pedals.

i think floor mounted is more natural (your feet follow the same arc as the pedals)

but...

top mounted is more familiar, like in pretty much every other car you've driven

I'm not sure there's much else in it really. i guess floor mounted are less likely to get stuff trapped under them, but if something does get behind them its less likely to come back out. having said that, i've never had anything stuck behind my pedals

I think what I don't like about floor-mounted pedals is that you pretty much have to press the pedal by rotating your ankle and leaving your heel in the same place. With top-mounted, you can either do that or push your whole foot+leg, whichever is more comfortable.

I prefer floor mounted, and you get better feel like that i think. Try having a go with both if you can. Floor mounted feel odd to start with, but are great when you get used to it.

That's my concern, is that when I run out of angle in mny ankle, I cannot push my heel through the pivot on the floor...

but then if it works for others, it should be fine! I think I'm going to go floor mount.

Hanging pedals are more efficient and make the floor a lot easier to clean.

I once had floor mounted pedals freeze solid in winter because of water carried into car by snow and slush!!!

I found heel 'n toe easier with top mounted than floor mounted pedals.

Hi

For ease of use strength - access ergonomic feel. The best option is floor mounted clutch and brake with a hung pendant throttle.
Also it is better to have the setup built into the car/chassis as this enable the setup to be made much more simple rather than the bolt in type as this then involves having all the pivot points mounted integral with the complete unit and gives problems with bias adjustment pivot location and generally it becomes to bulky and to heavy. A simple built in item can be made very minimalistic with adjustments built in for pedal ratios ect. And best of all no flex like the bolt in items.
