Well.....
My Lobro's are rattling again!
Renewed them all last year. Done a couple of thousand miles including Le Mans run. Noisy again.
Anybody else getting this? It's annoying me now. I admit I give them a hard time, but it's not as if they are pushing a sierra along is
it?

Rich.
PS - I'm living in Lancashire now - who's about?
when you say renewed do you mean new to you or brand new! you could just be unlucky and bought a set that were on the way out!
Brand new off ebay....only thing i can think of is that maybe it's because they are not OEM items?
Have you tried repacking them with a quality moly grease
IIRC Nat had problems with cheap and nasty Lobros failing. If you got them from ebay they are almost certainly not OEM quality.
Was thinking of more grease - need to strip them down and have a look......
Repack and turn them round so that thrust side is on non thrust , should keep you going for a while
Thanks Mel, I'll try it tomorrow.
To be honest, it sounds embarassing more than anything else, doesn't really affect the driving or anything....does accentuate the
'clunk' soung going into first from neutral though!
Rich.
Mike is right, I bought a set of 4 "cheaper" aftermarket lobros, and I'm pretty sure one wasn't hardened properly.
They were around £190 for the set of 4 kits.
Within 200 miles one was knocking on drive takeup.
I assumed it was the whole joint worn or something, but on checking it there was no play "in" the joint, but there was between the shaft and
the joint!!!
Turns out the splines had ripped out (well nearly, one standing start would have finished them off and trashed my custom lightweight shafts!!!! )
