shock absorber brackets

i know i asked this before, but i know about not moving the wishbone brackets, its the shock bracket i dont know about...?

to avoid having to cut the half shafts, one has to extend the wishbones. however this pushes the rear upright out as well, and so, if using the originally specified *Shock Absorber* bracket positioning, the shock will, at rest, be open more than originally intended. does this matter, should i move the bracket out 10mm or so? The shock bracket is easy to move, it is just moved further to the ouside of the rollcage mounting plate. So should i move it further out or leave it as it is?
thanks al

having the shafts shortened seems like an easier option, you may screw up the rear geometry. what ist it your building that makes the shafts too long or ist it that you are using a none standard diff shaft arrangement ie not sierra??
