Im about to start my dash and was going to run a length of aluminium tube along the bottom of the dash . I was going to use a 20mmx20mm square tube this will cover the 19mm min width but can i use square tube it has rounded edges or would i need to use a round tube.
It's 20mm radius that means you will need 40mm round tube if its a hard surface 20mm if soft [ padded ] if i remember right
but please check as things may have changed since i did my sva
Jacko
40 mm would probably look better anyway but i will check cheers
It has to be radiused at 19mm min' so you need (effectivly) 40mm diameter ROUND tube. Deffinatly not square.
I used 19mm wheel arch trim (CBS online) on the bottom of the dash you don't actually need a complete arc just a radius edge. Passed without even a comment but failed coz the top of the dash was <2mm. Just can't please some inspectors Easy fix used some 4mm rubber bead.
I cant believe its possible to pass your iva first time it seems the smallest thing can get you a fail, still i suppose its all part of the fun.
Don't mind the fun it's the cost that hurts. £95 retest, £60 for a trailer, £60 for fuel there and back. Locost me thinks not Then the
DVLA want there slice another £60 trailer & £60 fuel just so they can check the same numbers that VOSA checked. Add to that the possible £60
parking fine coz the DVLA don't have parking facility for car+Trailer+Unload. Oh and add extra £55 for the first Registration Tax disc. Building
was the cheap bit
