NTDWM (I wish it was)
That seems fishy.....
That exact engine/description were on ebay in America about 1-2 months ago, I think it was in Florida.
Strange that this guy would buy it (if he really has) ship it across the pond, and now be selling it....also note the bidders are kept private, so you
couldn't email them to warn them.
That does sound shady. I have also been told that any questions about the origin of the engine are being met with stony silence, and the bidiing list
is private so it is not possible to warn the bidders.
Hmmm

How about ringing up Cosworth?
I'll post a question, see if fishy bites!
Bit fishy!
I asked via ebay:
"Hi, is the engine in the UK? Any chance of viewing it? Is there any paperwork to show ownership/provenance? If I win could I collect? How long
has it been in the crate, has it been kept dry? Thanks"
1st (very quick) response via e-mail is:
"first of all, what is your location? cheers!"
I respond with my location "Gloucestershire"
then I (much later) get
"I'm from North Scotland, elgin"
and that's it, no further response to my answers. Strange sale for a 'first time' seller to use all the avoidance tactics (hidden
bidders). Not so strange, he did not post my question or his answer.
I'm leaving well alone.
Tell him you have a cusin in Elgin, can he come round for a look.
Well well well, click the link now and what do you get...
"This listing (7977847573) has been removed by eBay or is no longer available...If anybody contacts you to complete the sale, please ignore the
request. Completing the sale outside of eBay may be unsafe and will not be covered by eBay purchase protection programs."
If it was ended early by the seller it'd still be there.
What was it? Some sort of cossie engine? I missed it and can only see the "item removed page"
It was a 4-cyl 3.0litre Cosworth tuned/built Pontiac Fiero race engine, with all the bits - including a nut loose on eBay!
Odd, I thought all the Fiero 3 Ltr engines were v6's!!!
That's what the ad said; so say for a race series.
