i am having some problems relating to internet use, messenger crashes and the network won't setup correctly i am assuming the following message may have something to do with it

I use internet not LAN connection... is your internet plug in the right connector?

i have an ntl cable modem providing broadband and then this is shared round our house over a lan using a router
everyone can use the internet ok its just the lan on my machine won't set itself up. i run the automated lan setup and it comes back with an error mesage

it foxes me, its a bit above my head

Liam, what is the exact error message it gives you?

Surely it is a different message from the screen capture you've posted?
