Relay identification.

I'm looking for a relay for my radiator fan, I also have a big bag of relays.

The problem is that I can hardly wire a plug - how do I identify a suitable relay?

Are you just looking for one to switch the fan through a dash switch? If so then a simple 4-blade one should do it.

Thanks chaps, I need one that works from the thermo switch and a dash switch.

Can't quite work out why you would both?
If you set the thermostat switch correctly it should come on and stay on until the temp drops, the switch would only turn it on earlier (if you need to do this just set the thermostat to come on earlier) or turn it off befor the temp has dropped enough.

If you're working on a switched ground for the relay activation switch, then just fork the connections - send one leg off to the temp switch and the other to your dash over-ride. Connect the other side of both switches to ground.

Thanks or the replies guys - I took the easy way out and got my Brother-in-law to sort it, all wired up now
