North Weald Activity Day Sunday 8th June
aardvark101 - 23/4/14 at 07:20 PM

Hi chaps, i have organized an activity day/ sprint at North Weald for SUNDAY 8TH JUNE

Its a very relaxed whizz round the cones on a couple of tests, ideal for suspension setting and general tune & tweek.

You will be driving all day as the tests are quite short and you can just jump back on the end of the group and go again.

You can use any car and no special license/lid/or overalls are required (the last one i did a guy had hired a Focus for the day
and gave it a good seeing to )

Pub lunch on the day

Total cost per driver £60.00, non driving friends/family/groupies are free.

I have around 8 spaces left and need to get these filled asap.

Payment via Pay-Pal to pauljohnkent@btopenworld.com

Any questions either e-mail me or call me on 07767898936

Cheers Paul

O.K. Chaps sprint is this coming Sunday 8th June, details as follows:

DIRECTIONS
North Weald Airfield is off Junction 7 on the M11. Follow the signs for North Weald Market and this will take you straight to the airfield. There will be only 1 gate open on the day, next to the Air Traffic Control Tower. The person on the gate will direct you to where you will need to be.

You will need to bring your driving licence with you on the day. There are food facilities located on the airfield. The day will begin at 9.00am and finish at approximately 4.00pm. Spectators are allowed onto the airfield.

Please note that as your vehicle will be cornering at speed, you may need to inflate your tyres more than you would normally. Vehicles such as the Lotus Elise, Caterham etc are usually ok as they are lightweight and designed for high speed cornering, but cars such as Subaru Imprezas, Porsches, Madzas, TVRs etc are recommended to inflate their tyres to the maximum stated on the tyre itself to protect the side wall of the tyre. There is a garage just off the M11 roundabout (on the A414 towards Harlow) where you can do this before the event. We usually have a tyre pressure gauge so that you can decrease the tyres before your journey home!

Also make sure your fluids are topped up, and you have cleaned all the crap out of the boot

ITINERARY

09.00am
Meet on the airfield. Once most people have arrived there will be a briefing by the instructor.

9.30am - 4.00pm
A large group day with the following activities;
High speed bend.
Small circuit.
Medium Circuit
Sprint Circuit included weather/time permitting

Lunch will be at the restaurant, at around 12:00pm.

Any problems my number is 07767898936

Can i assume a passenger/occasional driver is ok to come along? I know Car Limits are normally happy with people bringing a +1!

aardvark101 - 2/6/14 at 09:07 PM

Not a problem mate, long as you dont have a mini bus

twybrow - 3/6/14 at 07:24 AM

Dammit - I will have to bring the kit car rather than the minibus then. Spoil sport! ;p

scudderfish - 3/6/14 at 08:31 AM

I remember doing a day there with Andy driving us around in a large Volvo which was the company car of another passengers g/f. Volvo replaced the brakes under warranty as they couldn't see how they could have been so badly shagged on so few miles

aardvark101 - 6/6/14 at 04:22 PM

Shocking

aardvark101 - 8/6/14 at 08:20 PM

Brilliant time today tearing up the tarmac, great to meet up with Tim & Kev,open face helmets not advised with Locosts, still picking the bugs out of my teeth

twybrow - 8/6/14 at 10:39 PM

A fantastic day. A marvellous array of cars, leary oversteer and good company made for a brilliant day. And the sunshine certainly helped! Thanks Paul!
