Audi A5 3.0TDI Quattro or BMW 3 Series 3.0d Coupe.
What should I get and why?
(P.S. might consider an older 911 C4S - 996)
audi v bmw is a bit like canon v nikon, theyre both good, but most folks like one or the other.
only you can decide in the end.
Porkers are nice if you don't mind the image problem, although i wouldn't touch a 996 without a good warranty.

I am not a fan of the new shape BMWs, so the audi for me every time.

996 for me, why blend in?
Feels special in a way no BMW or Audi ever will
996's are pretty cheap as well, 993's (last of the air cooled) are holding their value far better.
Guess it depends how many miles you're doing etc as the Bim/Audi are both diesel and should see ~40mpg whereas you'll probably get half that
in the Porker.
I like the styling of the A5 but I prefer the handling of BMW's.
The only way to decide is to drive them both mate.
I hate the new bmw looks, A5 for me. I love the look of them.
A5 at the bmw interior is shockingly bad
porsche is good but having had one i'd choose the audi
I have the A6 3.0Tdi S-Line Avant which is basically the same engine. Mine has been remapped to 290BHP and 415 ft/lb. This is my 3rd Audi (420BHP S4
& 530BHP RS4) and probable the best car I have ever owned....35-40MPG and enough power to do sub 6.0 sec 0-60 times plus the 4WD.
Haven't driven any of the current 3 series expect the M3 and that is a great car on the limit but the A5 would win every time for normal
driving.
Get the A5, but a Milltek exhaust on it and get MRC Tuning to remap it...300BHP and it will sound like this
