Hi,
I have been asked to create PDFs for our work website
and while knocking up a document and printing to PDF is
no problem I need to sort out the embedded objects.
Using a jpeg as a background in a word doc doesnt scale properly
when blown up and any other objects like logos etc just simply pixelate.
Can anyone recommend a piece of software that offers a bit more
than the basic MS Word functionality?
Cheers

I use PDFLite, works a treat on my invoices with the company logo (jpg) at the top.
http://www.pdflite.com/
What sort of company do you work for? They can't afford a PDF creator!!
What version of word are you using?
With 2007 you can save a word doc as a PDF, re opening with adobe reader the scaling does seem to work ok.
I've used Primo PDF for years, also use that for work reports.
Who mentioned money?
I'm not interested in setting up a new graphics design
division and getting CS6 for everyone.
I was just hoping there was a basic bit of software
that could do the job a bit better than what we are getting from Word.
Coozer. I have a PDF printer in BullZip so the actual production of the final PDF
is not the problem. Maybe I didnt get the details right.
Its the creation of the document to start with where I have the problem.

Sorry mate, just read it carefully and see what you need.
I use excel and word to create then use the PDFlite on the print button to create my docs.
PDF995 is a good free suite to have, or at work we use CutePDF
Another vote here for primopdf, been using it for years and its never let me down
I use this one PDF Creator
