Could be worse it could have been your 2.5k
Did you book it and pay part of it or all of it on a credit card if so you should get your money back .
Paid in two parts on visa debit card I'm afraid.

ReMan - 16/7/16 at 09:01 AMYep you should be able to get some back off visa, I read up on this last weekend as we booked flights to the states independantly
motorcycle_mayhem - 16/7/16 at 09:13 AMGiven the lack of ATOL or ABTA with these providers, you're friend here is the card company (even the Debit Card may offer some help here).
Needless to say, it's why I usually stump up the excess charge for Credit Card payments, even though organisations like Thomas Cook (which I've used in the past, when I had enough income) are protected by other means.
CRAIGR - 16/7/16 at 11:57 AMThanks guys.
Turns out the flights have been paid for so that's a start.
Have rebooked the hotel with another (protected ) provider.
So currently about £1250 down with transfers to rebook.
PAUL FISHER - 17/7/16 at 12:49 AMYes you can reclaim now on a debit card, just like you can on a credit card,
