Zetec cylinder head gasket story.
Billbro - 21/11/08 at 03:19 PM

Coming off the motorway onto a fast A road, I decided
to have the pants off of a large fat Audi estate that was in the inside lane.
Hit the rev limiter in 2nd and 3rd and was hammering away
in 4th still trying to pass it, when my engine suddenly went on to 2 cylinders.
Limped the 12 miles home at 30 mph. On opening it up I found to my relief
that the cylinder head gasket had blown neatly between cylinders 3 and 4.
I called Gaskets for Classics at 1230 yesterday and ordered a head gasket and a set of bolts.
Total cost including courier £23.30.
It only took 21 hours to travel form Milton Keynes to sunny Ayrshire in Scotland.
Great service.

Audi RS6s are really quite fast.
Bill.

Might be worth getting a head skim and running a straight edge across the top of the block to make sure it doesn't happen again. Plus new head bolts.

Great supplier, if only evryone else we deal with were as keen on prices and delivery times the world would be a lovely happy place to play with cars.

When a gasket blows between the cylinders check the block also
