gonna stick it in your mini?
lol is that possible??
No in september (when his mini is finished ) and his garage is clear, he's thinkin of building a locost or puttin it in his metro!!
Which reminds me, is there any 7 company that sell plans for a sierra based chassis??
Cheers
gts sells plans for a sierra based chassis.
a 1000bhp money no object rv8 engine i recon is a goer. big twin turbo's and maybe some nitrous would do it, might be a bit laggy though.
Ned.
ps
http://www.chevroletls1.com/rover_v8.html
and
http://www.capriracing.co.uk/nitrous.htm
and
http://www.triumphtr7.com/documents/articles/stories/lemans.asp
and
http://www.paralleldesigns.co.uk/engine.html mentions a 420bhp n/a 5.2
so a 5.2, twin turbo running fuel injection and then a couple of 100bhp of nos is getting there..

I know I guy from this forum (v8kid) who is building something like a 5 litre Rover V8 with wildcat heads and throttle bodies etc. He is hoping for
around 480BHP normally aspirated and I see no reason why this cannot be achieved. The wildcat heads are truly awesome, I saw them when I paid him a
visit a little while back. They have the largest valves I think I have ever seen and the engineering quality is beautiful. The inlet tracts were just
about big enough to put your entire hand in and touch the valve head!!
If you are talking about a 5+Litre engine with special heads, throttle bodies, mapped efi, high compression, dry sump, stiffened block, good exhaust,
roller rockers and other associated valve gear and everything (ie. Mainly conrods and pistons) set up to rev to 7500+ RPM then 550-600BHP should be
possible without going near turbo's or nitrous. All IMHO of course...
Cheers,
Craig.
I never understood why a company like Kent Auto Developments, who did the 16V Mini heads, never did a similar job for the R V8.

Simon
KAD never designed the 16v head from scratch. It was a design by John Hardy of Weslake that the founders of KAD, ex draughtsmen from Weslake, put into limited production.
