Having just purchased a brand new 2litre zetec (for a very reasonable prise). I am now stuck for ideas.
I was planning on using the orginal induction system and try and keep as much of the engine together as possible, however after trying a trial fit I
have found that this will not be possible, due to the size and shape of the intake chamber, as I would need to completly reconfigure my steering
system. I was thinking about fitting carbs as I have in cupboard a set of 40's in good condition. How much work is involved in converting it to
run on Carbs.
The ECU that I have been given is apparently programmable, but how this is done I have no idea.
Any advise would be great.

Build your own plenum chamber. That way you can use the Ford ECU and other hardware. I did it too. Mich cheaper and it always fits. If you dont have
the mapping-software, or the knowledge, you'll have a problem. take a look at my pic's.

Been doing some, research.
Dunnel offer a kit that allows me to use my 40's, the kit has wiring loom, ecu, manifold, and gaskets, says that I should get about 160hp. Is
this the best option for me, and is it good value at £550???
Any one had any dealings with dunnel?
Dunnell can be a bit arrogant. The best place I found was Scholar Engines. You really need 45DCOEs for a 2L engine, or go straight to fuel injection
(about £1300 all in). The difference in fuel consumption can go a long way to offsetting the price difference.
What ECU do you have and how do you know it is programmable?
The ecu is ecc V
and the reason that I know it is programable as it has a sticker on it saying so.

trashbin ??? The manifold looks OK to me, what's wrong with it ?. If is OK and you want dispose of it I would consider buying it from you.
PS, I do have a hammer ... a large lump hammer to be precise, sometimes it does the job, sometimes it just trashes whatever I am trying to shift
