How much for a Bogg Bros inlet manifold??
garage19 - 14/2/07 at 08:42 AM

Any one got a Bogg Bros inlet manifold for bike carbs/TBs?

And if so how much do they charge?

viatron - 14/2/07 at 09:09 AM

the full kit, manifold and reconditioned bike carbs is, from memory, £350

If you send carbs that you have they will make the inlet manifold, attach to the carbs and jet them to run well for about £190. To get the best out of them they will need a rolling road session but they will work fine as is.

what about if you just want a manifold for your (fuel injected) throttle boddies?

I know, i'm getting lazy, just curious how much they'd want to make blackbird bodies to a crossflow or zetec.

Called them last Friday. Fireblade carbs to Zetec manifold £188.
Send them the carbs and they will clean and jet them for your application, total £260.
Don't know if that includes VAT.
Going to see a local stainless steel fabricator today.

as above.

i was told that was the total cost, so it'd best include vat!

will be taking them my carbs in the near future. pretty has a price, unfortunately.

Yup £260 all in for my fireblade carbs on a zetec manifold, they should be plug and play or as near as dam it when they get here.

As said earlier the manifold alone comes to £188 so the rest is sorting the carbs,£350 for the supply of carbs and inlet is pretty good as i paid £90 for my carbs so theres nothing in it.

£188 for GSXR 750 to Zetec. not sure if thats ex vat

Have you thought about KNN Manifolds Manifold (Pinto they also can provide others) , GSXR 600 carbs jetted and spaced to fit manifold - £205 delivered in 2 weeks. Good peice of kit worth considering.

Hmmm....only comment I would make on this is that you're saving on the carbs but spending more on the manifolds....

IMHO, they're overpricing the manifolds...but then again, they're charging what the market will pay...

rebelrider - 14/2/07 at 11:41 PM

I agree a metal plate with 4 pipes welded on £188 is a lot of money it would have to be solid gold for me to pay that

bob - 15/2/07 at 12:04 AM

It is a fair amount of money but i've seen some of boggs work and its not that easy, its angles and spacing and you have to get it right.

Throttle bodies are far easier if the bodies seperate, straight tubes so Mr avarage could probably weld that up.

Until more suppliers come along the price will stick

Syd Bridge - 15/2/07 at 10:11 AM

If I knew I was going to sell a few of them, I could do a plain straight tube inlet for t/b's for £188!!!!!, out of carbon and associated materials.

I've been making cfrp intakes for Ford smallblocks for 16 years!

Cheers,
Syd.

I thought the same about Boggs manifold until i got one made elsewhere. I got mine as a basic manifold for me to tidy up, this is when i realised just how much time is involved im making them look as good as a Boggs manifold. If you work out the time they are probs not that expensive for a custom fabrication that is proven to work.
£188 at a guestimate of £25/hr is only approx 6 hours work plus materials.
