I know that 1800 flywheels for the zetec are lighter than the 2000, and with redrilling a CVH flywheel can be used.

But what is the lightest that a Zetec flywheel can be taken to before the idle and pickup starts to suffer?

I've used the 1600 CVH flywheel with no problems. Cheap to get clutch and starter.
Certainly spins up quickly.

How much does a 1600 flywheel weigh?

The 1800 cvh is lighter than the 1800 and 2000 zetec ones.

I can't weigh it now as it is fitted and running but it was certainly a lot lighter.
I had to drill the bolt holes out by 1 mm and fit a trigger wheel as the 1600
flywheel does not have the holes drilled on the back.

Thanks, I think if i get a EFI flywheel it'll have the detents in the rear face to trigger the CPS.

Burtons state that a CVH flywheel can be taken down to 4.7kgs, well that's the lightest they sell.

I used the CVH flywheel (can't remember which one) but had it lightened so lost all the timing marks. A front mounted timing wheel is easy enough to sort out though!

I'm pretty sure the 1.6/1.8 flywheels are the same on the early engines,not sure about series 2/3.

Part numbers were also the same for the 130 1800 escort engine on the flywheel as the regular one,surrey dave has the 130bhp flywheel in his posted pic.

Also take into account the clutch weight.
