SVA friendly steering wheel ?
Hi
I cant fit a standard Sierra wheel because it obscures the speedo.
So I did this.
I hope it's SVA friendly. I have got a collapsible wheel boss
What do you think?

Looks like it should do the trick as long as the edges of the red button are radius-friendly.
When you fold the tabs back you could fix them with double-sided foam tape so it looks more "permanent"

That was exactly my first thought, looks a bit sharp edged.
It's really quite good and a useful idea considering they don't make pads for a lot of the wheels these days.

Great idea - I shall be copying that, as my steering wheel is no good either.
What did you use to cut it out with?

What did you use to cut it out with?
4" angle grinder with ultra thin cutting disk.
and a lot of filing

Just fit the Sierra steering wheel for SVA. I'm sure it doesn't obscure the speedo to the point where you can't even see it. Or does
it?

WHAT !!!!!
Oh well back to the drawing board
and yes H/F it does obscure the speedo.
right through the middle of it.
BTW what is sure hardness of 50 anyway ?
I assume it is harder than the foam I used
What could I use instead

Don't think it's stated anywhere in the SVA manual that the speedo must not be obscured.

I just checked the SVA manual
It says:
"Check that the spedometer is capable of being read at all times of the day or night, eg by illumination
Note: Temporary obstruction by the steering wheel is acceptable"
So I definatly think not being able to see all the speedo is a fail
