Filling integral reservoir MC with level cap?

I have one of the CBS SVA level conversion caps for my willwood master cylinders with integral reservoir.

Question is can you take the test cap off and fill through this?
If you take the whole cap off you get fluid everywhere, and when you put it back in it takes ages for the inside of the sensor to fill and you just displace half the fluid!

Once upon a time you could get transparent extension reservoirs to screw onto the master cylinder. I would prefer the non integral master cylinder with remote reservoir myself , easier to fill, larger reserve of fluid and reservoir is clearly visible making fluid checks more likely to be carried out.
