tyres

hi all
i am using escort engine gearbox and rear axle with capri 13" wheels
any idea of the good tyre choice and correct size to give right speedo reading
60's or 70's profile

Do you know the width of the rims as there were quite a few versions of the Capri, I had red MKI 3ltr v6 boy it was so

if you still have the original escort wheels or look the tyre size up on the web, then you can use the diameter of the tires to find the correct profile

wheels look very nice btw

185/70x13" was a standard Ford tyre size it gave only a slightly bigger same rolling radius than the standard Mk2 155x13"

With that combination and Escort clocks, I used 185/70 x 13. Passed SVA speedo checks with no problems.

If you can be bothered to fiddle with speedo calibration, 185/60 x13s are the tyre to fit to a Locost.

If you have a particularly powerful engine, you might need 205/60 x 13s on the back.
