Rear wheel clearance
Evening all,
Been pottering around in the garage sorting more bits out, and after dry-building the rear axle and doing some measuring & maths, it appears I
will have around 12mm clearance between the tyre inner wall and the chassis after adding my 10mm spacers Doesn't seem a great deal to me.
Also, as I am building the +442, I think my front 'bones are going to be somwhat longer than standard!
Any thoughts or comments please?

25 mm spacers, or reduce the prfile of the tyre, last thing you want is the tyre rubbing the chasis on hard cornering

Take the springs out and move the axle to extremes and see if it rubs.
If you have IRS its surprising how much the tops will come in, 1/2" is not much to play with.

It's a live axle setup. I haven't actually mounted it all yet, this is just calculating based on the width from flange to flange on the
drive shafts when fitted, and on the offset of the wheels and tyre width (195 x 60 x 14). The chassis is 46" wide at rear rails.

What is the wheel offset? if you are using sierra wheels the off set is more than escort or cortina wheels it is about ET 38 instead of ET 18 so you
would have 20mm more clearance with escort type wheels,Puegot wheels are also ET 18 with 108 pcd and could be used.

Measuring from wheel flange to outside edge of tyre was 135mm (not sure whether that's positive or negative offset? - tyres are 195's). I
can't remember what the wheels were off, I got them around 2 years ago off fleaBay. (£20 inc. rubber )
After some homework I reckon the offset is around +38mm so as you suggest, Sierra type fit.
