Wishbone Bushes

Now I've finally got over the headache of wide track wishbones, I am looking to source the bushes.

I intend to use the 25mm x 2mm CDS tube for the bush tubes (I have plenty spare to use) and I already have the standard 'book' mounting brackets (38mm between faces and M10 mounting hole).

So I will be needing bushes with 21mm OD and crush tubes of 38mm length (max) with M10 centres.

Anyone got any advice on where best to get these?

My other option is to obtain the Triumph Herald Isolastic bushes as quoted in Ron's book but I would sooner get Poly.

Cheers,

JB

I still like the idea of rubber bushes for the road. To much vibration and noise from poly ones.

I thought that but wondered about longevity? But then again, not going to be doing astronomical miles I suppose

Where would I get them from?

Thanks Chap

Do they come with inner tubes or do I need to order them seperatley?

Lots of questions I know, but don't worry, I won't ask you to order them and fit them too

on a rubber bush the innertubes should be bonded in.

If using Spitfire bushes note they are 3/8 bore not 10mm, so 3/8 bolts might rattle in your 10 mm holes

yip an outer tube bonded to the inner by molten rubber is all they are. Note - do not tighten the bolts up till the car is on its wheels and the engine in, otherwise the bushes will be destroyed.

OK, thanks guys.

BTW, JeffHS, will it be such a problem if the bushes are 3/8" and the brackets are M10? Surely 0.5mm won't be a problem once the bolts are tight?

As a matter of interest in the rubber v poly bushes debate I had my car set-up by the local race shop over Christmas. They suggested fitting poly bushes to the rear (four link + panhard) as the rubber ones drag as they move up and down affecting the ability of the rear axle to follow the road surface. Probably doesn't have a huge effect in normal driving conditions but worth bearing in mind if you are contemplating competition.
