Cortina Axle Identification

Is there any way of determining whether my cortina rear axle (with the bigger drums) is pre or post 1979?

I'm pretty sure it's from a mk5 but can't be certain as it came as part of the deal for an unfinished kit (never again, sounded like a good idea at the time).
