What tyres
I have got my chassis arriving on saturday and its in need of a full rebuild.
Dont flame me..its a westfield BUT as I paid not a lot for it i figured for what it came with and it cost less that most starter kits it made
sense.
However I want to run on 13" wheels and would like to know what you guys and girls pick as your tyres. This car will also be used for sprints
and hillclimbs.
Ive been looking at
Toyo 888
Kumho Ecsta V70 (so far these are the only ones that go to 235 wide for the rear)
Any more ideas

This was the easiest decision of my entire build. R888 sg compound.

On a serious note though, try the R888's. I've had a set of 14" on mine since the car was built. They are about to get replaced
with a set of 13" (when I get around to getting the wheels refurbished!).

used to use 888's and recently changed to v70's 'cos they had the widths.

Check the series regs?
If it's in roadgoing then you could well be restricted to the MSA 1A list (both the above are list 1B) and for 13's that could be
interesting as there's little choice.
Currently there's a big push to get the entire country running to the same regs, for 2009 that seems to be 1A's - though apparently
that's upset some folk and there's a call for it to be 1B's for 2010..
We have the same 'problem' up in the north west and the fast majority of 7's run 15 inch rims to give a wider choice of rubber.

Yes they do.
- Ive done a fair bit of looking into it, although not actually bought anything yet, but am looking to go for a set of 48's
- The other choice is indeed proberbly the R888 which certainly on cost per fun seams to win hands down. Apprently roumour has it that this as due to
the carcase basicaly being a standard road-going type carcase, with the decreased stiffness also contributing to the consenous of good wet weather
grip.
The A048 replaces the A032 as the roadlegal semi-slick, dry performance is apprently simular, with the change being to improve the wet handling.
- The other yoko is the A021 which more treaded tyre, which im told is otherwise simular to the 32/48. Possably slightly better in an aquaplaning
situation, but otherwise reportly far less grip for our type of cars.
Then i found someone on WSCC near me who has a load of partworn 48's in 13" so thats proberbly swung the deal and im going to his on
sunday hopfully.

I will be road going on 1b tyres. I have heard the same about the change of rules.
Yes I could go slicks/wets but then its just another set of wheels to buy.
Sheila lend us your purse!!!!!!!
