NPTF to M10Male

Edited to correct my misunderstanding of npt sizes.

Hello,

Does anybody know where I can get an adaptor to go between M10 Male and 1/8NPT female?

I'm about to bolt up my wilwood calipers, however, they have a 1/8th npt female hole, and my hoses have m10x1 male.

With the wilwoods, I got an adaptor with m10x1 male->1/8npt which doesnt help.

The hoses are crimped, so I'd need to make up new ones rather than just swap the ends and would like to avoid that, they also have a nice 90 degree bend on the end which makes them fit nicely.

You can get brass fittings which have m10x1 female inputs, so I could use one of those between the m10 adaptor and the m10 hose, but this seems a bit clunky, and im not sure if the brass unions will be short enough to get a seal anyhow.

What would you lot do? New hoses?

hmmmm, I am not sure I like the idea of using adapters on braking system (fine for oil or water though)

what about making up a short length of brake pipe with the correct adapters on the end? like what is done on many production cars?

From what I can see, using the supplied npt->m10 male is quite a popular choice for the wilwood, my plan originally was to threadlock it in place, and if the need arise only remove the flexy from the adaptor.

I don't like the idea of using two adaptors though, would rather just use one, or none if possible.

I need to sort this too at some point. When I got my wilwood kit, I was told Rally Design can sort you with the adaptor. Give them a ring, tell 'em what you got, and they'll hook you up!

i bought wilwood calipers in the group buy, but haven't got round to fitting them yet. however, i bought some compression ends for my flexis in 1/8npt. i plan to chop the old ends off and fit the new ones in their place.

the goodridge flexis seem to have a fair bit of spare length to allow this.

I didn't find a suitable adaptor in the end. One option was to go M10M -> M10F:M10F -> M10M:NPTF, but that was too many adaptors. I got rally design to make up a custom set, the nearest they can do with a crimped end is M10F which will fit the adaptor that comes with the wilwood caliper. (M10M:NPTF)

They do supply a euroquip fitting that isnt crimped that you can use to make your own though.

But it won't pass SVA/IVA without crimped ends
