Locking Bias Bar with roll pins
Hi, tomorrow im locking the bias bar with a roll pin. Must i do both clevis's for sva(retest) or will just one being locked do as the second is
a PITA to get to.

Sorry to be of absolutely no help but what did the guy say at your original test? Mine was roll-pinned through a plain nut but still allowed a bit of
movement resulting in it having to be tested at both extremes. Brake balance was fine at both extremes but the interpretation was that my bias bar was
not "locked". My proposed solution was to remove the roll-pinned nut and insert an ally sleeve over the bar and refit the nut/roll pin.
This was accepted as a suggestion (but I haven't been for my retest yet!!)

I put a short piece of tube over each end of the bias bar and screwed a nut down onto each end, then drilled and pinned the nuts. As said ^^^ without
the tube you have to leave a bit of play for the bias to operate. I didn't want to drill the clevises as that would weaken the bar at a load
point.

Sorry, but my tester said the nuts on both ends had to be done.

I did exactly the same as Richard and put a roll pin through the locknut. Brakes were tested at the extremes of movement and I passed. In the eyes of
the tester and indeed, reality, the bar was locked to the extent that any movement would not allow the rears to lock before the fronts. My set-up is
as photo. If you do as you suggest and rollpin one clevis to the threaded bar that surely has locked so that there can be no movement and therefore
acceptable providing the balance that you have set is correct. I did what Raw do and that is to set it to full on the front.
Whatever you decide upon, best of luck with the test.

mine was as per john's photo, except I had a spacer sleeve behind the nut to allow it to be removed after sva and give me my adjustment
back......
oh and the roll pin was mysteriously in two bits that only engaged in the nut anyway.
Strangely enough, testers are human, and if the bar is locked (by a locknut) and has what appears to be a pin through it, then the pin must be locking
it, and there is no real way of establishing to the contrary!
